It's those little things.

I am with my children everyday and spend all my time with me when I'm not at work and they are not in school. Even though we spend all this time together we are not really spending time together.

Last night I finally got to spend some quality time with my kids. We ate snacks, played BINGO, had some laughs and enjoyed a few good books. We loved every minute of it.

I do not get to have that time with them often as I am always working or using the weekend for Church and week prep for the kids and myself.

When we do get the time to spend together it never has to be money spent for my kids to enjoy themselves with mommy. We can just simply snuggle up and read a good book or even watch some Saturday morning toons.

As I write this I realize i need to wrap it up. It's Saturday, time for some homemade snacks , Legos and laughs.

Back to School!!

Back to school , Oh back to school.

Time for setting alarms and packing lunches.

It' s officially back to school season and boy oh boy is it looking to be a busy yet great year. The kids are excited to kickoff a new school year and I cant wait to get back into it either.  Time to get back on track and  fall into our normal schedule.

Time for bake sales and school store. Track meets and school plays. I look forward to it every year. It's wonderful to see your children progress and blossom as time goes by. Trying new sports or activities, coming out of their shells and making new friends.

My kids are coming home tired like they never knew before lol. Pencils and Homework and Books Oh My!!

To all the parents out there whose kids went back to school today, May you have a great year filled with laughter, Fun and love. May your children flourish and grow and pave the way for greatness!

Autumn is Here!!

It's my favorite time of year, Autumn. I love the colors, the weather, the warm drinks and the cuddling.

Autumn also means its time for many mini adventures with the kids. I have made a list of things I would love to do with my children this year .

Here's what I have so far:

  • Apple Picking
  • Hay Rides
  • Pumpkin Picking
  • Apple cider making
  • Trips to the craft store-Art Time!!
I love having to wear sweaters and drinking hot apple cider as we decide what craft to do today or what we want to be for Halloween. Kids have just about made up their minds. They even found one for our Yorkie.

One thing I do have on my mind that is not yet on my list is learning how to make my dad's Homemade Apple pie. He use to make it all the time when we were kids. Now that we all have kids of our own i think its time to learn and try. I may add pumpkin pie to the list as well. 😍

I am anticipating a great autumn this year. Why? Because I now have a Kindergartner which means all new projects and activities to partake in. Don't get me wrong, my fifth grader is going to be bringing home some stuff too but nothing makes you feel good like that hand print turkey lol.

I will be posting quick and easy projects for you and the kiddies as the holidays progress.

What are you looking forward to as autumn comes and the holidays near? Let me know in the comments below.

Sometime We just need a little 'Me-Time"

If you read my first post and can relate to it then you will agree as moms we all need "Me- Time".

What exactly is "Me-Time"? It is anything you want it to be. Just take time for yourself. Take a nice hot shower or bath and let your worries and stress melt away. Snuggle up with some tea and read a good book and detach from the world for a bit. Live in your story that you are reading. Leave the electronics behind. We are all so caught up with our social medias and have our phones or tablets glued to our hands.

Life can be so busy at times, that we forget about taking care of ourselves. Today, make sure you take some time just for YOU. We all live busy lives and sometimes we forget to just live life. At the end of a long day take time to relax and unwind and just breathe.

Spoil yourself a bit. Worried about money and spending it on yourself for a change. Don't worry you can pamper yourself at home. Deep condition your hair, put on a facial mask(homemade ones are great), give yourself a pedicure. You can even just kick your
feet up and have a much needed glass of wine.

Just remember, don't forget to be good to yourself

Good Morning Everyone,

I am new to blogging but I decided I needed a place to rant and just be able to take a deep breathe from motherhood. Don't get me wrong, I ADORE  being a mother and absolutely love my kids, but every now and then I want to scream at the top of my lungs. As mothers we make it look easy to do what we do but isn't that what we are suppose to do? Make it look like its the easiest job in the world.

We are expected to give the appearance that we are not exhausted and have it all together all the time.
Hair combed, dressed, house clean and dinner ready by five. You should have the cupcakes done for the bake sale, be present for every game or activity your child participates in and not complain once about doing any of it.

Well we don't. At least I know I don't. I have 2 kids both in school and I am a single mother that works 10 hour shifts. My day starts at 5:30 and doesn't end til all my duties as a mother are done.
That means making sure teeth are brushed, hair is combed ,kids are fed and everybody is ready to start the day. We are home by 7 pm and its homework, dinner, teeth brushing and bed. I then get the pleasure of preparing to do it all over again the next day.

Sounds easy huh? Well its not. Did I forget to mention squeezing in time for PTO meetings, conferences, after school games and activities.

Do I get it all done? Yes. How? I really don't know but as mothers we somehow find a way. Do we forget things sometimes. I know I do.  The money for the school store or that "home made" baked good that I'm rushing to the store before school to pick up.

Sometimes I do wish I didn't work and I was a stay at home mom so maybe I would have more time to be the "perfect" mom and get everything done.

I get so stressed out sometimes I just want to pull out my hair, scream and just give up but I don't. I have come to the realization that my kids are happy with the mom they have. In their eyes I am the perfect mom who shows up every time even if I am late or made it happen even if it means buying the cupcakes from the store instead.

So now every night instead of getting frustrated and wanting to yell, I just take a deep breathe, think about who I am doing this for and cherish the fact that I get to be a mom.

How about you?
